Melissa Data Announces New Integration for Demandware at Internet Retailer Show

Melissa Data’s integration allows retailers to ensure addresses are accurate in real-time before an order is submitted

SAN DIEGO [Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition, booth #805] (June 14, 2011) Melissa, a developer of high performance data quality and address management solutions, today announced a new address verification integration to Demandware, a global leader in on-demand ecommerce. The address verification component allows retailers to ensure every address is complete and accurate in real-time before the order is submitted – saving money on delayed or undeliverable shipments and reducing back-end staff work.

“We’re very pleased to be offering our address verification technology to the Demandware community,” said Greg Brown, marketing director at Melissa Data. “All the work is done so that Demandware clients can take advantage of this pre-built shopping cart enhancement without complicated and time-consuming integration efforts.”

Bad address data not only delays deliveries, it can also cost retailers up to $10 for every package that requires address correction and rerouting by the delivery company.

The new address integration is available on the Demandware LINK Marketplace, a community of technology partners designed to help retailers easily adopt new ecommerce technologies to improve the customer experience. Demandware’s clients range from mid-sized to large enterprise retailers, some of which include Isaay.com, Crocs, Columbia Sportswear, and Jones Apparel Group.
