Personator Identity also cleanses, standardizes, and validates all contact data types to ensure data quality standards are met. The solution leverages Melissa’s Global Data Quality services to deliver clean, consistent, and accurate information, increasing the likelihood of successful matches.
All the standardized contact data is sent to the MNOs in real time to confirm if a match was found. Depending on the country, Personator Identity will redirect the search to be performed against specific MNO sources. A status is returned indicating if each individual contact data element matched against the MNO.
Melissa also provides a wealth of proprietary capabilities including RBDI (residential or business delivery indicator), AddressPlus® (adds known apartment numbers to residences), Non-USPS data (5+ million addresses not supported by USPS) and MAK® persistent address identifier key technology which tracks all changes to addresses over time.
Melissa’s identity tool allows flexible verification, including Phone-Name-Only verification for clients needing quick identity confirmation. This is ideal for high-volume onboarding, fraud prevention, and industries like fintech and e-commerce. For stronger authentication, businesses can mix and match data inputs based on their needs:
Melissa goes beyond traditional Mobile Network Operator (MNO) data, offering a robust mobile matching solution. We leverage a broad spectrum of authoritative sources, including telecommunications providers, commercial databases, government records, and credit bureaus. This multi-source verification allows us to achieve a significantly higher rate of accurate matches. Please note that data coverage and source availability may vary by country.

Mobile ID Verification is a method of identity verification that leverages mobile phone numbers as a primary identifier for KYC/AML requirements.
This approach uses real-time data from Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to authenticate an individual’s identity. SIM registration requires individuals to register their name, address, date of birth, and, in some cases, a government-issued document or national ID.
Mobile ID Verification is often more affordable compared to electronic identity verification performed against regulated data sources such as credit bureaus and government bodies.
Mobile ID Verification provides a reliable and efficient way to authenticate users, prevent fraud, and comply with regulatory requirements. It is a powerful alternative for identity authentication.
Mobile phones have become essential tools for communication, acting as a primary means of connecting individuals to the world. Unlike traditional identity verification methods that depend on semi-static data, Mobile Verification utilizes real-time data from Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to authenticate an individual's identity with a high degree of accuracy.
In many countries, mobile phone numbers are linked to personal information registered with the government, often as part of mandatory SIM registration. As a result, mobile numbers are increasingly becoming primary identifiers and digital identities. In regions like the EU, India, and parts of Asia, a valid mobile number is not only required for basic communications but also for critical activities such as opening a bank account, registering for online services, or renting property.
