Åland Post (Posten Åland / Ålands Post Ab) is the postal operator of the Åland Islands and the territory’s Designated Postal Operator under the Universal Postal Union — Åland Post is one of the few autonomous regional postal operators to hold separate UPU membership from its parent state (Finland). It is a limited company wholly owned by the Government of Åland, providing domestic and international mail, parcel, logistics, and philatelic services (Åland stamps are widely collected) from its headquarters in Jomala (near Mariehamn).

Postal Code Format

Åland uses Finnish 5-digit postal codes with the “AX-” prefix (AX-NNNNN) to distinguish Åland from mainland Finland. Codes are in the 22000–22999 range: AX-22100 for Mariehamn (the capital), AX-22150 for Jomala, AX-22530 for Sund, AX-22710 for Föglö.
